Professional Bio

Hello! I'm Rachel Walsh, and I have been serving the Darien, New Canaan and lower Fairfield County real estate marketplace for 24 years. My goal is to help people find the perfect place to call home, wherever that may be. I enjoy enhancing my clients' experience through every stage of the real estate process, before, during and after a move. My clients can expect unparalleled dedication, integrity, honesty, outstanding personalized service, and a laser focus on the details. As an analytical and creative thinker, I'm able to help my clients get the best price when they buy or sell their home.

Achievements

My passion for real estate and client satisfaction fueled my success, leading me to become a top-producing agent for COMPASS Real Estate. After 22 years with Sotheby's International Realty, I am so excited to transform and enhance my clients' buying or selling experience by joining the most cutting-edge, dynamic and tech-savvy real estate company that exists.

I am a writer and am currently writing a book about real estate to help new real estate agents succeed, with some funny stories about real-life real estate stories.

I've been interviewed and published in many newspapers, online news sources and magazines. I've shared my real estate expertise as a contributor for The Wall Street Journal. the Darien Times, the New Canaan Advertiser, DailyVoice.com, CT Cottages & Gardens and The New York Times.

I take great pride in my achievements, but the real success comes from the trust and relationships I have built with my clients, many of whom I can also call my friend.

Community Involvement

Community is very important to me, and I am actively involved in local organizations in an effort to bring people together. As an animal lover, I try to be involved in local animal rescues and adoptions and have paid the fees for others to adopt kill shelter dogs. I support the New Canaan Youth Center's Secret Santa program for underprivileged children in Fairfield County each year. I try to make a difference with the New Canaan Nature Center and the local libraries, The New Canaan Gardening Group and on a larger scale, Americares, with whom I traveled to Nicaragua with, the Alzheimer's Association, The American Heart Association and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I also run a community-based monthly seminar series about real estate, community issues such as drug addiction, heart disease, learning CPR, animal adoption and other timely issues that affect us all.

About Me

I have always lived in the Tri-State area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. I was born and spent my wonder years in beautiful northern New Jersey, mostly in Upper Montclair. I lived for a time in southern New Jersey between the bay and the ocean. I've lived in Manhattan's midtown and upper west side, and on the beautiful coastline of Westchester County, NY. I have spent the last 30-years in both Darien and New Canaan, Connecticut. I have three children who went to school in both towns, ultimately graduating from New Canaan High School, then graduating from Connecticut College (with a Master's degree from Chapman University), Lehigh University (with a Business Degree and then a CFA Certification) and Loyola University, Maryland (with a Marketing Degree). My children now have compelling careers in TV, Marketing and Finance and live all around the world including Los Angeles, New York City and New Zealand.

I live in an antique home but also love new construction and mid-century modern homes. I am very house-wise and know a lot about structure, maintenance, design, renovations, staging, organization and more. I love to read, write, walk my dog, go to the local beaches and parks, and travel with my husband, friends and children. I went to college for English and Journalism, and have an advanced degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. I have been in the hospitality and service industry for over 30-years and have worked in management and VIP Services at two luxury Central Park South hotels in NYC. Hospitality and service are ingrained in me and is something I don't take lightly. I try to anticipate the needs of my clients and take great joy from making them happy.

I would love the opportunity to help you find your dream home or sell your current home. Please contact me at Rachel.Walsh@Compass.com, or by phone at 203.912.5908.
